Friday, April 25th: Arbor Day in Centerville

10:00am - Ceremony, Centerville Public Library

The Centerville Beautification Committee will preside over a tree planting at Centerville Public Library. This year's Arbor Day ceremony will be in honor of the 375th anniversary of the Town of Barnstable. A craft for children will follow and a display of the Library's Cape Cod Collection will be on hand.

 

Friday, April 25th: Arbor Day in Cotuit

10:00 AM – Dottridge Homestead, 1148 Main Street, Cotuit.

The Civic Beautification Committee will donate an heirloom variety plant this spring for the Santuit and Cotuit Historical society landscape to celebrate Arbor Day, 2014. Please join us for the dedication and planting on April 25 on the grounds of the Dottridge Homestead at 1148 Main Street, Cotuit. The chosen plant will represent an example of what may have existed on this property during the first half of the 19th century when Samuel and Abigail Dottridge raised five children in this center-chimney Cape Cod home.

Ceremony includes live music, readings, flag raising ceremony.

Thursday, May 29th: Special Exhibit opening day, John F. Kennedy Museum

Special exhibit on display through October.  The Heart and Home of the Kennedy’s features…

 

Saturday, June 14th:  Public reading, “Cut of Her Jib”

7:00PM, Cotuit Library, 814 Main Street, Cotuit

13 years in the writing, granddaughter of Clara N. Bowden, Beverly Bowden Rogers, reads and discusses excerpts from her book, “Cut of Her Jib”, based on her grandmother’s story.

Learn about the history of the town through photographs and stories. 

 

Sunday, June 15: Father’s Day Car Show
9:00am-2:00pm, Main Street, Hyannis

Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual event. 
Over 350 cars-old and new of various makes and models. 
A fun day for the whole family! Activities throughout the entire weekend include a A VIP reception for participants on Friday, June 14 with a car cruise down Main Street, a craft show on the Village Green Saturday and Sunday, and vendors along Main Street during the car show on Sunday.

 

Thursday, June 19: Cotuit Chronicles Lecture Series

“History of Barnstable presented by David Churbuck.  The Cotuit Chronicles is an  annual lecture series on themes of historical & cultural interest to the community of Cotuit. Presented by the Historical Society of Cotuit and Santuit.

30 Students from England will delight visitors with their pipe band and chamber

Choir performance.

 

 

Saturday, July 12th: Cahoon Museum, Great Brush Off

9:30am-2:00pm, Cotuit Village Green, School & Main Streets, Cotuit

The Cahoon Museum invites all to the 24th Great Brush Off on the Cotuit Village Green. The highlight of this festive day, a live auction, that includes many pieces painted that morning at scenic locations around Cotuit, begins at 1 p.m. Silent art auction begins at 9:30 am. Saturday, July 19: Osterville Village Day Parade

1:00, Main Street, Osterville

“Happy Anniversary” theme celebrating the Town’s 375th birthday and the 40th anniversary of Osterville Village Day.  Grand parade at 1:00 PM with antique and classic cars, bands, floats and more. Village Day events include a craft fair, bounce house, children’s events, and trolley rides.
